Private Client Taxation
It’s often said that death and taxes are the two unavoidable facts of life. But with proper planning and the right advice, your taxation arrangements can at least be made as simple and inexpensive as possible.
Tax is a complex and often confusing subject, and taxation issues can arise in a number of business areas. That means tax planning should be considered central to any legal, commercial or accountancy advice.
GMAK recognises that each person and their business have unique objectives. An integrated service is therefore the best way of ensuring that tax implications are fully considered before any financial steps are taken.
Our comprehensive private client tax service covers the following areas:
- Completion of self assessment tax returns
- Advisement of payments as they fall due
- Ensuring deadlines are met, so that penalties and interest are avoided
In addition, personal advice covers areas like:
- Income Tax
- Capital Gains Tax
- Inheritance Tax
- Retirement
- Trusts
- The home (Principal Private Residence)
We aim to provide our clients with an up-front estimate of the cost of these services.
Finance
Including Loans, Mortgages, Hire Purchase, Finance Leases and more.
Our firm offers no-nonsense advice on all kinds of finance options, assisting you in finding the most appropriate option for your needs. For instance, we recently assisted a client with recommendations for a £1m facility, combining a repayment term loan with finance leasing for key equipment.
Whatever your requirements, we are able introduce you to the experts and guide you through some of the complexities surrounding this area.
Accounting and Book-keeping
GMAK can recommend the best level of accounting and bookkeeping for your needs. We aim to ensure that your accounts comply with current best practice and statutory or regulatory requirements.
We also provide advice on basic bookkeeping. And where appropriate, we make recommendations on everything from computerisation to operational efficiency improvements, as well as methods for keeping your own records, saving valuable accounting time and fees.
Auditing
We are registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants under the Companies Act 1989. That means we are able to audit companies requiring this service under recent new regulations – including companies limited by guarantee and Industrial and Provident Societies.
Our firm also has considerable experience in other auditing areas, including those covered by the Charities Act 1992 and associated accounting regulations.
In addition, we provide auditing services to housing associations, both registered and unregistered.
